Change or Cancel Hold Mail Request Online with or without Confirmation No.

If you are unable to collect your package due to some reason, then you can use the USPS Hold Mail service to hold your package at the Post office. However, the post office will hold your mail for a certain number of days based on your request. Under some circumstance, you may change your plans and can modify or cancel your request for Hold Mail service. You can cancel this request by making a call or through online.

Modifying or Cancel the request through call:

If you wish to modify or cancel the USPS Hold Mail service via phone, then make a call to 1-800-ASK-USPS or 1-800-275-8777.

Modifying or Cancel the request at the post office:

Change USPS Hold Mail Request Online:

Step 1: Visit the Hold Mail page to change your service request.

Step 2: On the Hold Mail page, you will see an option called Edit/Cancel Your Hold Mail Request.” on the right-hand side. Click on that option.

Step 3: Upon clicking that option, you will see a pop-up menu on the screen. It requires you to enter your phone number or email address and confirmation number on that menu.

Step 4: Upon entering the required details, now you will be able to edit the information you want to modify. The menu allows you to change the starting and ending date of the request. In case, if your mail is already on hold, then you can only change the ending date of the service request.

Step 5: After modifying the required details, you should click on the continue button on the bottom of the page

Step 6: After verifying the information click Yes.

Step 7: Finally, you will be able to see the confirmation page that your request has been updated.

Cancel Request Online:

Step 1: Visit the official USPS Hold Mail service page.

Step 2: On the Hold Mail page you will see an option called Edit/Cancel Your Hold Mail Request.” on the right-hand side. Click on that option.

Step 3: Upon clicking that option, you will see a pop-up menu on the screen. It requires you to enter your phone number or email address and confirmation number on that menu.

Step 4: After entering the required details, you will now be able to cancel the service request.

Step 5: Now, click on the continue button that is at the bottom of the page.

Step 6: After that, you will now be re-directed to the “Verify Your Cancellation” page.

Step 7: Finally, you will be able to view the “Cancellation Confirmation” page that confirms the cancellation of your request.

Cancel or Change Hold Mail Request Without Confirmation No.:

Now the next question will arise in your mind, What if you had missed your confirmation number? Well, you can still cancel or modify the service request.

You have to visit the post office. There you will be asked to show your Photo ID. In case, if you are out of town and not able to visit the post office, then you can also call your local post office and modify the service request.
